Eden Design was becoming well-established in the Black Country area, predominantly carrying out interior design and basic construction tasks on residential properties and small businesses across the area. We had a solid core design team that drew up plans according to the client’s desires and budget and an excellent workforce that delivered these projects on time and to budget for them. However, I increasingly found myself backed up with paperwork and telephony duties, and less able to manage the business and visit potential clients to grow the business. I needed support in handling the administrative duties of the business so I could meet my duties in design and business development.

SBF Consultancy first came to my attention through a networking group, Business over Breakfast. They were extremely well-represented by Saffron and Adam during their minute’s delivery outlining their services and I was immediately interested by the breadth of services offered by SBF. I had a brief discussion with Adam and Saffron during the networking part of the meeting and, after discussing their current clientele and the benefits the services brought to their businesses, I arranged a meeting with Adam and the director, Sam.

I met with Sam and Adam two weeks later, and we discussed the services that would bring the most benefit to Eden Design and how they could be adapted to suit our needs. This was followed up with several other meetings to discuss the implementation of the service package we had designed and to begin the process of implementing it. SBF quickly assumed responsibility for managing my business communications, the company email inboxes and telephone lines, and dealt with almost all enquiries in the first instance. Very few queries required escalation to myself, so thorough was their understanding of my business and my needs. They have since assumed complete responsibility for my social media campaigns, including seasonal give-away competitions and focussing on producing top-quality posts to advertise all of our works across multiple platforms.

Working in partnership with SBF has brought numerous benefits to the company. They have supported our steady increase in work and helped us get accreditations from professional bodies like CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) which is a pre-approval scheme that allows contractors to demonstrate to potential clients that they meet the required health and safety standards, and Construction Online. They conducted the necessary research into what was needed in order to gain the accreditation and supported our completion of the applications in- and out-of-hours.
