Prior to our contract with SBF Consultancy, Compupay Services was an already well-established umbrella payroll company based in Birmingham. We had a large-office team that provided industry leading payroll solutions to employment agencies specialising in construction and traffic management in Yorkshire and the Midlands. However, we were looking to streamline our processes and reduce the company’s overheads to support expansion. In this regard, SBF Consultancy came highly recommended.
We booked a meeting with the SBF directors, to discuss the current business model for Compupay Services and our existing processes. We explained that our priorities were reducing our overheads to fuel our plans for expansion and that some of our existing processes needed to be streamlined. A full audit and business analysis was completed on our entire back office processes, and the team managed to streamline our functions to make them manageable by a smaller number of staff. We also discussed how to improve our interaction with our clients and their candidates, such as the implementation of a live-chat facility on the website and how these processes would be manageable were they to be outsourced to the SBF team. After these discussions, satisfied that SBF could handle the workload, we agreed to give them the contract.
SBF quickly assumed responsibility for our candidate registration and customer service processes. They added new candidates to our existing pool, clarified the details supplied by the clients and added any details that were missing from the initial data export. They also drafted and issued welcome emails to the new and existing candidates, issuing all documentation relevant to the candidate’s employment type and performing IDVA screening to ensure they all had the right to work in the UK. They dealt with general telephone queries such as the payment process, contract and holiday queries, as well as many more in an extremely efficient and professional manner, only escalating queries to us when necessary. The quality of the services they provided was impressive and they quickly assumed responsibility for accepting and processing expenses claims for several clients and adding their employee numbers to the wage sheets submitted each week by the clients.
They also began liaising directly with the clients, to request information or to answer queries the clients had regarding processes or their candidates’ registrations. SBF have represented Compupay on numerous occasions and have done extremely well over the telephone and in emails sent to candidates, ensuring that we were copied into all communications with clients to keep us aware of any queries and only escalating the ones that required our attention. The rest they dealt with themselves, to the satisfaction of ourselves and our clients. They also provided some business development support, managing our social media presence and dealing with several initial enquires from potential clients in a very professional manner.
Their exemplary services have given us the time and latitude to meet with more potential clients and to expand our client base into different sectors, such as education, warehousing and healthcare, increase the number of construction companies and agencies that we work with as well as providing payroll solutions for permanent contractors. We have expanded our network of contacts and clients across the length and breadth of the UK and our potential for expansion is only growing.
